As opposed to saying I'm late for sharing this idea (early January MIGHT have been the perfect time, just sayin') let's say I'm EARLY for June...
So Scentsy has this wonderful program that helps us create interest and excitement with our goodies during slower sales months - January and July.
When the company rolls out the Bring Back My Bar specials during those month, it gives our customers a chance to do back-flips and stock up on some favorite scents from the past.
I can personally do a standing double back tuck over Spiced Grapefruit.
You can get all 20 Scent bars for $85.00 and if you split it between 8 people, that means you can each get a cube of every scent to make basket parties with. Each cube can be cut in half to make 2 basket parties.
And if you divide pie r squared you get the radius of a rhombus....or something?
So, remember to order the bundle of all the scents as soon as it comes out. Usually the 15 of the month before they are for sale (so June 15 ish or January 15 ish).
My first thought was to use baggies to make easy basket parties:
But I've found that the scent leaks through, even when double bagged.
And don't even get me started on the inconvenience of opening up two bags to get to that one little scent sample...ugh! I did this, thinking it was a great idea, then as soon as I shared it with the first person, and it was kind of a cluster, I went right to this:
You can get these at Michaels in the jewelry section. They are $9.99, but I used a 40% coupon and got mine for $6 something with tax.
I happened to have one of these from a couple years ago when Nique and I used to melt the big testers down to make several little testers - OMG, this was a pain!!! THANK GOD Scentsy corp starting making mini-tester kits for us.
Anyhoo, I figured I could use this for the scent samples, and since I'm not melting them down, and just putting the cut pieces in there, I can easily remove them, soak the containers in vinegar and soapy water to remove any lingering scents, and then re-use them for the next BBMB basket party.
So I just cut the samples using my wavy cutter that I got at Bed, Bath and Beyond or click here to buy one online.
and put half a cube in the container.
And since I didn't have any circle labels, I just cut a regular address label into thirds and used that.
You could get all fancy-pants and print out your labels but I was in a hurry so I just wrote the name of each scent out with my 2nd-grade-teacher-at-the-chalkboard writing. Trivia: Did you know I used to be a 2nd grade teacher?
I love how it turned out.
Much better than the baggies. Easy to see, easy to get to each scent, easy easy easy!
And since there are only 20 scents,, but 24 containers in each bin, you can either add 4 of your fav scents from the current catalog, or just leave 4 blank. I did one each way.
So there you have it! Basket parties for BBMB! Easy, inexpensive, and EASY!
And a fun idea for our June Team meeting!
